In less than two months we will be married and the parties have begun!! Unforgettable Bachelorette and Bachelor parties have come and gone and do I have a ridiculous story for you!
My Bacholorette party was organized by my lovely friends Katherine and Caralyn, along with Netta, Anabela, Mariana, Marta, Ale, Carmen and Alix. A lovely bunch of ladies from many different places, but man do they know me well!
First they surprised me by taking me to a delicious wine tasting at De Vinos in Malasana.
It was great because it paired wines with music and allowed us to explore our own senses by trying to pick our own wine-inspired songs. It was really great and we were basically plastered before we even got to dinner! I was even starting to use my wand to command others, so it's probably best that we slowed down and headed to dinner.
We had delicious Greek food at Mythos near TetĂșan. It was so delicious that I ate so much that I couldn't even eat my dessert. We had a nice time chatting and then we were off to wander the streets where I had to do silly things when I answered their "Friend Trivia" incorrectly. Luckily I did better than they expected and didn't have to do too much. Except ask random people for stuff, tell a guy a joke (he was not amused), and take this selfie with a random person.
And then we went to this awesome club where they had fun music and little shows. There was a drag queen and dancers and it was just my kind of place. I highly suggest it, just on a night without crazy fights.
Hysterically men were on our group like vultures on a dying raccoon. Okay that isn't the best imagery, but seriously, they were not very nice about it. One even told me that I was making a huge mistake by getting married, and since he was in the mood to be rude to get responses, I decided to play his game and tell him he didn't know me or my partner and had no basis to make any such comments. The other guys were equally rude, making blanket, stereotypical comments about America, Hamburgers, and naming random states that they knew. Typical vultures.
We were all heading to get our first drinks so we could enjoy the night and start dancing, and a guy came over to our group and was decent and nice, so we didn't say much and just let him dance with us. One of the girls was even encouraging him. I won't say any names. :P
Then, out of nowhere came this guy who was wretched drunk, just out of his mind drunk, breaking our group in half and heading directly for the dancing guy. Netta and Caralyn caught a glimpse of the drunk guy's crazy face and pulled me out of the way so that I wouldn't get a direct hit to the face with a sloppy drunk's fist.
He said something about leaving the girls alone and a little bit about respect and a bunch of other drunk speak I didn't catch before throwing the first punch. Before we knew it a full-blown fight broke out with punching and pushing and smashing people, and we were right in the middle of it!
In the chaos of it all and fighting my urge to get in there and try to break them up, I didn't even realize that my leg was bleeding. The dancing guy who got a punch in the face had unintentionally thrown his glass and upon breaking, it cut my foot pretty deep.
So deep in fact that I needed to go to the hospital and get stitches! Luckily, I remembered all the things my awesome mom taught me growing up, so I didn't panic at all, just went strait to the exit and started bossing people around to get what I needed. I downed my drink, as I knew the next few hours would suck and I wouldn't have any pain killers, and then asked for materials to wrap the wound.
Netta got some hydrogen peroxide and cotton balls from the Drag Queen, who wasn't really phased at all by the scene, and with a terrified face cleaned my cut for me. Some drunk guy tried to help too, but didn't know what he was doing and you can only imagine what I said to him. I even told the bar manager that if he didn't have anything that could really help me that he'd better get out of the way so that I could get to the hospital.
The girls were all very worried and were really just trying to get me to the nearest ER to get stitches and I don't remember much of what they did, as I was primarily worried about stopping my bleeding so that I could get to the emergency room, get stitches, and get on with my life.
I didn't even think to call Guillaume to come pick me up until I was outside and had wrapped my foot with gauze and medical tape. I think the girls were more worried, scared, and upset than I was. Maybe all those fun stories mom told us at dinner growing up were all just leading up to me dealing with crazy shit as an adult. Just kidding, I love you mom, and I really do love those stories!
The bar manager offered us free drinks if we were to come back, but I'm not sure that is realistic, especially since the bouncers basically just watched the fight until it was over and never kicked the men out. Great Job guys, you did the exact Opposite of your job!
In the end everything was alright, Anabela and Guillaume took me to the hospital, and throughout the following week everyone checked on me and sent me nice messages. I didn't even have to wait long at the hospital, and I really think they thought that I was just a dumb girl with a scratch on her leg, especially since I wasn't crying and was extremely calm. It wasn't until they removed my make-shift bandage and a giant blood clot came out of my wound that they sent me to the room where they could stitch me up.
Getting the stitches wasn't even difficult, it was actually just really boring, and I wasn't even concerned until I overheard the doctor TEACHING the nurse how to do stitches. I thought to myself, well, everyone has to learn sometime, my leg is asleep, so, let her learn! But that was after I thought, are you kidding me, she hasn't ever done these type of stitches before?!?! What is going to happen to my leg!? Please don't amputate it on accident. haha.
In the end, after annoying the nurse because I took pictures of my gash and the stitches, I was on my way home, and it only took 1 hour to get admitted to the hospital and to get my stitches! The most disappointing thing is that I can't do my usual swimming or workouts because my ankle bone is bruised and I have a sprain from the glass hitting me so hard. So much for the wedding fitness program and dieting, here I come chocolate chip cookies. Just kidding, I prefer no-bake cookies. :P
And that concludes my crazy bachelorette party adventures, a shout out to the ladies who came with me and made the night unforgettable! I love you guys!
Until next time,
Raelynne

Yeah.... We don't know any of those people. And my photo was ridiculously blurry. |

They were so sweet, they really didn't want this to be me. |

It really seemed like no one but us noticed this crazy fight. (Picture taken from google, not from our night.) |

My make-shift bandage. Hey, my legs look pretty good. haha |

I'm gonna need some more of this bubbly to handle this shit. |

It looks small in that picture, but it was 2 inches long, an inch wide, and half an inch deep. |

Here, no there, no, OMG not there, okay, there you go, you finally got it! |

Actually, these are now my favorite. Thanks Katherine, Marta, and Mariana for helping me discover homemade ice cream sandwiches. PS. Good choice for the chocolate cookies... |
